Welcome to Anne Jenkins Art Gallery

I was honored to be part of a public art project - painting a locomotive for the City of Union Point's (Georgia) Downtown Development Authority with fellow local artist, Jan Whyllson. This program is supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA also receives support from its partner agency, the National Endowment for the Arts. The train is in the park and kids can sit in it for photo-ops! It draws on the history of Union Point recognizing the city's Garden Club as the 2nd oldest in the nation, the first train, the Firefly, and the Buffalo Lick swamp so crucial to the settling of the town and the historic business district.

Stage 1                                 Stage 2     Me setting the basics

Stage 3  At the start we tried to stick to our side but that hasn't worked

Stage 5  Jan looks confused by what I'd done

Stage 6 starting to look good

stage 8 in above 3 photos  Not much longer and she'll be done!

we're supervised closely by Jamie, Jan's dog
